To Boost Male Viewership – CoverUps.com

To boost bad ratings at CBS Evening News, rumors have it Katie Couric  plans on pulling a "Britney" and baring it all.

The rumors might be false, but that didn't stop CoverUps from running this questionable graphic.

NEW YORK NY - In what some industry insiders are billing as a shameless effort to promote and draw interest to her little-watched prime time show, rumors have it that Katie Couric plans on pulling a "Britney" during an upcoming news segment, whereby she'll claim to simply have forgotten to put on her panties.

"Katie took notice of all the attention Britney got following her episode of exiting the car without any undergarments for the whole world to see," said Pat O'Brien of "The Insider". "So, why not do the same thing? It makes sense."

O'Brien said Dan Rather once thought about a similar tactic involving the loss of his pants, but test studies indicated it would have killed his ratings for good (they died a lingering death instead after Rather's disasterous Bush/National Guard story). Katie pulling a Britney would be a decidedly different situation, O'Brien went on to say.

Other insiders claim that short of the no undies, pulling a well orchestrated "wardrobe malfunction" might dramatically raise Couric's popularity among a small number of sexually deviant imbeciles, but whether enough of them know about CBS News remains an open question. Katie also thought it would be tough to create some kind of plausible scenario where Justin Timberlake might pull at her top. It would be hard to blend in naturally with the evening news.

That hasn't stopped other well known public figures from taking note. Al Gore is rumored to have a very public wardrobe malfunction in the coming weeks to boost his popularity after the failure of Live Earth.

He plans to "accidentally" let it all hang out at a charity fund raiser, like he did on the cover of Rolling Stone during the 2004 election. The reputed inventor of the internet is said to have coined a new term: "political malfunction."

No word on whether Gore will appear on the Evening News with Katie Couric – with or without his pants.
