Doctors Integrate More Humor Into
Office Examinations – CoverUps.com

silly Dr. Fred Stanislavski of Stanislavski Family Health Care Group loosens up his patients with laughter, prior to conducting his odd, yet entertaining rectal examination. This approach has the medical community wincing, either in laughter or criticism. Donning a clown suite, clown shoes and rubber gloves, Dr. Stanislavski added slap-stick humor to what can often be uncomfortable exams. Many patients say such comedic incursions make them feel great, but others claim they are just uncomfortable.

MEMPHIS, TN - In a most unusual new development in the medical field, it appears that Dr. Fred Stanislavski of the Stanislavski Family Healthy Care Group is acting like a complete idiot in order to convey unpleasant information to patients prior to conducting invasive examinations. He is the 'Patch Adams' of his generation, although he takes it one step further. Maybe too much further, some claim.

“I am all for humor in the work place,” said Felix Peters, 45, a patient, who saw Dr. Stanislavski for treatment of a flu-like symptoms recently, “but having a cream pie planted in my face as I make a co-pay is too much.”

According to Dr. Stanislavski most of his patients like the comedic slant to his practice. “If they don’t like it… it is their loss. I think medicine needs to be injected with a little more humor,” said Stanislavski, “I just like to wear a clown suit while conducting my practice. I find it relaxes the patients, though it has caused some to abandon us completely… Oh, well. Did you fart?” (Good one, Doc.)

Dr. Stanislavski said he does other things to divert the patient’s attention prior to paying bills as well. He can juggle and do magic tricks. One patient, Tom Richards, 54, says at first he hated his proctologic exams. But now, because of Dr. Stanislavski, Richards says he views them as chances for entertainment along with some deep cave exploration with a really, really funny guy.

“Hey, while the doc goes deep sea diving,” said patient Richard Moore, 43, who recently had a routine anal probing completed, “I may as well laugh a little and be entertained as well.”

Moore described an examination where he could feel some “deep rooting going on back there.” He was not sure what the doc was doing but had a great laugh when Dr. Stanislavski showed him the rabbit he pulled out of his ass.

“I thought it was hilarious!” Moore recalled. “After all, laughter is the best medicine.”

We can't argue with that. But, our advice is never trust anyone wearing clown shoes and rubber gloves.
