Many Fear Time Capsule to be Beamed From Mexican
Step Pyramid Will Summon "Predator" - CoverUps.com

Carol and Bob Murphy of Cleveland, OH, stand atop a step pyramid where a time capsule will soon be beamed to space in the hope of making contact with intelligent life forms.  (Again, disclaimer, there is plenty of alien life out there like the Wupalaries, Greys and Hertinskuyars, but none of them are deemed intelligent).  Many think the Murphys' will be torn limb from limb from a space "Predator" just like the one Arnold Schwarzenegger fought in the movie Predator.   Please note: we are not sure this is a real photo of Teotihuacán.

MEXICO CITY - Mexico's Teotihuacán, once the center of a sprawling pre-Hispanic empire, is set to become the launch pad for an attempt to communicate with intelligent extraterrestrial life.  The problem is that the location has left some to speculate a real 'predator' from outer space might answer the call, just like the one Arnold Schwarzenegger killed in the 1984 movie "Predator."

A Reuters' article reported that Yahoo's Time Capsule project will include digitalized information about Earth and its cultures and all this stuff will beam with a laser into space on October 25 from the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan.

A 'Predator Alien' is a large reptilian like creature with a hard exoskeleton and advanced cloaking system that makes it seemingly invisible.  It is found of hunting humans like prey and sticking them with its large razor like appendages.  Then it guts them and usually hangs them from a tree for tough guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger to find.

"I like the idea of a beaming a message into outer space," said Dr. Carlos Mesa, an astrophysicist with SETL (Search for ExtraTerrestrial Life).  "But, if you saw the movie "Predator" you will know that Predators are not anything to mess with.  It took Arnold (current Governor of California) nearly 2 ½ hours to subdue the Predator in his movie and it killed his whole crack squad of commandos.  Hell, even Jessie 'The Body' (former Governor of Minnesota) was killed in the attempt."

Nonetheless, enthusiasts from around the world will have a chance to submit text, images, video and sounds that reflect human nature to be included in the time capsule. Still, that does not sit well with anyone that has seen the more recent sequel to Predator, Predator vs. Alien.

"Anyone that has seen the movie knows that Predators came to the step pyramids a long time ago and helped build them," said Mexico City resident Jose Liriano, who plans on bringing his whole family to the event despite the inherent danger.   He said he is a big fan of the Predator movie series and is not afraid if one comes back.

"Danny Glover killed a bunch in the second movie," he said.  "How tough can they really be?"

Archeologists say a culture centered in Teotihuacan, known as the City of the Gods, dominated Mesoamerica for hundreds of years during the first millennium. It is unclear what led to the society's collapse. Many think it was the human sacrificing but others speculate it was late fees on rented ritualistic devices needed to carry out a sacrificed to the Sun God.  Or, a Predator simply killed everybody for sport and left.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said that if a Predator were to return to the Earth he would be ill equipped to handle the alien.

"I am no longer in Dutch (his character in the movie) shape and don't think I could fight a Predator like I could back in the day," he said.  "I can't even handle aliens from Mexico, much less from outer space.  Call up Carl Weathers, he might be available."

Carl Weathers could not be reached for comment.
