Atlanta, Georgia. Mike Stevens talks to coverups.com about the new fad in his state, dog fat camps. Like many chubby children before them, the family pet – dogs for now – are being sent to camps for anywhere between a week to a month (depending upon the severity of their problem).

“The first camp originated just outside of Savannah, and was a huge success. Fat dogs, mostly belonging to the rich, came from all over the state. These six-figure pets have been so spoiled, they won’t even fetch. It’s the saddest thing. But now their owners are paying big bucks to get them to shed some poundage.”

Roscoe, 5 year old of Mr. and Mrs. Appel, hardly ever left his chair. It got so bad they had to start feeding him there.

The young couple took Roscoe to Chubby Canine Acres, where he was put on a rigorous 3 week program including a battery of therapeutic activities meant to regenerate his lost desire to chase cats, bite mailmen, catch Frisbees, fetch balls, hump strangers’ legs, and run frantically on the beach. When Roscoe came home, the Appels were very satisfied with the results.

“He’s back to his old self, both physically and mentally. All the diets we tried were useless. This fat camp worked miracles.

Taking note of Chubby Canine Acres’ runaway success, several other canine fat camps have sprouted up in Georgia and neighboring states. Dogs are said to be coming from as far away as California and New York. Next up: fat cat camps.
