| Capitalizing on the popularity of unlikely American Idol star Sanjaya Malakar, who caused acerbic judge Simon Cowell once to proclaim that if he won the show “I would quit the show for good,” Presi-dential hopeful Barrack Obama is mimicking Sanjaya’s antics by changing his hair color and wearing more outrageous girly outfits in an attempt to garner more votes in the upcoming Presidential election. |

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Presidential hopeful Barrack Obama is deciding to break course from tradition and a take a more unorthodox approach to the upcoming race for the 2008 Democratic nomination and hopefully the U.S. Presidency himself. He is going “American Idol” style.
“I really think with long hair I kind of look a lot like Sanjaya,’ Obamma said, referring to the American Idol teen star that has captured both the fascination of an electorate more prone to vote for a TV show than in a real presidential election.
Recently, 35 million took part in the latest American Idol vote whereas about 4,500 people voted in the last presidential election and most of those voters were dead or illegal. .
“Is it pandering?” Obama said,” I don’t know… But, it is driving Hillary nuts and that is what is cool about it. In fact, Sanjaya has more attractive famine qualities than Hillary and I think I can capitalize on that.”
Simon Cowell, the famously bitter judge on Idol, said that Sanjaya may ultimately force him to quite the show. He said he may never come back to America if Obama decides to go the route of Sanjaya too.
“A couple years ago,” he said of Barrack Obama, “I didn’t know this man’s name. Now, I am being told he is the front runner for the U.S. Presidency and that Sanjaya is on pace to actually win Idol. This country is absolutely nuts – I have to get the hell out of here.”
Not to be outdone, Hillary Clinton is attempting to reinvent herself on TV as well. She is using Bill’s considerable insider influence to get her a spot on “Desperate Housewives.” Those in the know, say Hillary as a Desperate Housewife makes perfect sense.
“That is not reality television - that is realty!” said Stan Abrahams, a political analyst with MSNBC. “If Hillary goes Desperate and they do the episode where her husband cheats on her – viewers might get confused and forget what channel they are watching – Is it NBC or the History Channel? It will be hard to tell and it will be exciting.”
We attempted to contact Obama for his reaction to Hillary taking a part on Desperate Housewives. His campaign manager said he was busy rehearsing with Tony Benet.
